The Legend of Egas Moniz

In this play, the story goes back to the origins of our nation, and the main character is Egas Moniz, who, according to tradition, was the tutor of our first king, Afonso Henriques. In 1127, Alfonso VII, King of León and Castile and cousin of this monarch, lays siege to the Castle of Guimarães. In a time when men were governed by honor, it is Egas Moniz who, with courage and wisdom, resolves this moment of tension between the cousins.
