On May 18th, the Loulé Municipal Museum joins the celebrations for International Museum Day under the theme "Museums Uniting a Divided World." This initiative offers a diverse program across Loulé, Quarteira, Alte, and Querença.

In Loulé, the spotlight is on the Islamic Baths and the Barreto Manor House. This archaeological and historical site — unique in the Iberian Peninsula — will offer guided tours at 10:30 AM and 5:00 PM, allowing visitors to dive deep into the overlapping layers of the city's history.

In Quarteira, the exhibition "Feet on the Ground and Hands in the Sea – 6,000 Years of Quarteira's History" will be open for self-guided visits. The showcase offers a comprehensive retrospective, from prehistoric occupations to the present day, highlighting the community's intrinsic connection to the ocean and the land.

In the municipality’s interior, the hubs of Alte and Querença invite you to explore ethnographic and natural heritage. The Cândido Guerreiro and Condes de Alte Museum Pole, as well as the Water Museum Pole in Querença, will be open for visitors, celebrating rural traditions and the vital resource that shaped the region.

The Loulé Municipal Museum invites the local population and visitors to participate actively, transforming the museum into a vibrant space for encounter and celebration.
