With this play, one presents the life of our first king, Afonso Henriques. From the child who, like all children of his age, enjoys playing, to the adult who becomes the courageous Conqueror we still celebrate today, and finally, to the more mature Afonso Henriques, announcing his successor, Sancho I, the Settler.
But we also meet other characters: Afonso Henriques' parents, Count Henrique and Teresa, his tutor, possibly Egas Moniz, Count Fernão Peres de Trava and Mafalda, Afonso Henriques' wife.
This is a story within History that shows the conflicts this king had to face and overcome in order to expand the small County of Portucale and unite the lands that were being conquered.
